McClure’s Shoofly Pie has been named “One of the best Pies in America” by Saveur.

Shoofly Pie has had deep roots in Pennsylvania since its creation in the late 1800s, when the Pennsylvania Dutch started off their days as all good Americans should: with a piece of pie. Their molasses and crumb breakfast paired perfectly with a warm cup of coffee and kickstarted their day in the fields. Nestled in the heart of Amish Country, McClure’s Bakery had been producing what many believe is the country’s best Shoofly Pie since they started making their “web bottom” beauty in the early 70’s from an old family recipe. While history is filling with many lessons, we think the fact that pie for breakfast is completely acceptable is one of its best!
